Unruly Women and Unfinished Business: The Fight for the Vote! is a devised piece created by a faculty/staff and student dramaturgical team to commemorate and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment. The production is comprised of suffrage and anti-suffrage literature spanning the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, accompanied by original works. The piece reflects on the fight for equal suffrage, for women’s right to vote for those who would govern and write the laws for all Americans, the successes and shortcomings of that fight, and the ongoing challenges to voter rights and equal access to the ballot in the United States.
